  • Harsh Anand attended the INFORMS 2023 Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ, and presented his research work on the topic “Evaluating the Effectiveness of Hurricane Evacuation Orders by Leveraging Large-Scale Human Mobility Patterns” in the session “Response and Recovery to Disasters and Disruptions.” He was also the session chair for this session.   • Harsh Anand attended the INFORMS 2022 Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, IN, and presented his research work on the topic “Evacuation Order Effectiveness And Community Behavior: Enabling Strategic Data-driven Decision Making Through Big Data” in the session “Machine Learning Applications and Data-centric AI.” He was also the third-time winner of the Freestyle O.R. Supreme Case Competition, after competing with graduate students from all top universities.
  • Kamiar Khayambashi presented his work on the topic “Assuring Trust in CHEST Devices with Near-optimal Data Collection and Distributed Sensors” at the Center for Hardware and Embedded Systems Security and Trust (CHEST) Fall Annual Meeting.

  • The CASS group conducted a one-hour workshop for 30 rising 7th and 8th graders through the Starr Hill Pathways Program. We introduced the enthusiastic kids to the basic probability concepts and played some fun numerical games. Loved it! 😀
